I recently admired a painting of a winter scene and imagined how it might look in my hallway. Though I am not a painter, I figured out a way to get a similar result by using a few materials and some ingenuity.

Purchase white acrylic paint, a large paintbrush and a painter's canvas from an art store. The canvas shown here is 24” x 24”. You can buy artificial grasses in various colors and textures from stores that sell artificial flowers.

Scoop out the paint with a large brush and swirl it thickly on the canvas, leaving lots of obvious texture. Simply lay down one piece of grass at a time, gently pressing it into the thick paint. Some paint from your fingers will transfer onto the grasses. The effect is like snow.
